From Mill Site to Land Return: The Story of 'O Rew

'O Rew was an abandoned sawmill on traditional Yurok land. Over more than a decade, the Yurok Tribe, Save the Redwoods League and other partners restored Prairie Creek and turned the site into a new gateway to Redwood National and State Parks. In June 2026 the land was returned to the Yurok Tribe, its original stewards, and protected for good. A happy ending, which in conservation films is rarer than you'd hope.
